Our Life This Week

The Homeschool Mother's Journal

Since I have not been keeping up with this blog very much at all, participating in something like this is the perfect thing to get me back into the swing of things! :)

In my life this week...
My infant:
-Started sitting up on his own
-Finally has his first tooth poking through
-Showed an understanding for the word 'no'

My preschooler:
-Attempted to ride his bike without training wheels
-Took the training wheels off himself
-Declared that he will be the best pro skateboarder someday

My dad went to the hospital for emergency surgery. :(

In our homeschool this week…
We took it pretty easy, there was a lot going on and we mostly just played. We sat down with flashcards one day. He likes to play with the learning games on my ipod and he was using his Tag books for a couple of days.

Stopping by from HMJ. also will hope that your dad gets better! I am homeschooling 5 and also have a baby and a pre-K (in addition to a 2nd grader and two spec. needs 6th graders. I always feel that pre-k and below that their homeschool should be unstructured, alot of playtime, alot of "the teachable moment". our preK daughter joins us at the table when she wants to and has her own "work" books, and has blossomed by being able to go to her own drummer. i feel so fortunate i have been able to stay at home and homeschool. enjoy those baby moments; our baby just turned one. that first year goes so terribly fast. come stop by and meet us over at brighton park sometime!
